【🧬Advancing Rare Disease Care with Genomics】   Genomic medicine and rare disease care go hand in hand — and the World Rare Disease Day Symposium 2026 brought that connection to the forefront. We were honoured to be part of this meaningful event, organised by Rare Disease Hong Kong (RDHK).   Our Chief Medical and Scientific Officer, Dr Hon-Yin Brian Chung, delivered a presentation highlighting recent progress in advancing genomic medicine in Hong Kong and how integrating genomics into clinical practice can enhance precision diagnosis and improve equitable access to care for patients with rare diseases. 🩺   Every patient's journey highlights why advancing genomic medicine matters. We remain committed to strengthening our collaborations with partners across the community to improve outcomes for patients and families. 🤝   {hashtag|\#|HKGI} {hashtag|\#|HKGP} {hashtag|\#|HongKongGenomeInstitute} {hashtag|\#|GenomicMedicine} {hashtag|\#|GenomeProject} {hashtag|\#|RDHK} {hashtag|\#|RareDiseases}

【Genetic Counselling in Focus】   Genetic counselling plays a key role in supporting patients and families navigating undiagnosed and rare diseases. In the latest episode of “The Rare Encounters”, Dr Annie Chu, our Head of Operations (Medical and Scientific Branch), shared insight into this healthcare profession.    In this podcast, Dr Chu discussed how genetic counsellors support patients and families through complex diagnostic journeys. She also highlighted how HKGI works closely with various partners to drive the professional development of genetic counselling in Hong Kong, bringing more personalised healthcare to individuals with undiagnosed conditions.   Through the Hong Kong Genome Project, the city’s first large-scale whole genome sequencing initiative, HKGI continues to advance genomic medicine and patient‑centred healthcare.   🎙️ Watch the episode here: https://lnkd.in/gTUYk2XM   {hashtag|\#|HKGI} {hashtag|\#|HKGP} {hashtag|\#|HongKongGenomeInstitute} {hashtag|\#|GenomicMedicine} {hashtag|\#|GenomeProject} {hashtag|\#|GeneticCounselling} {hashtag|\#|HKMPS} {hashtag|\#|HKGeneSoc} {hashtag|\#|Podcast}
