The Senior Research Assistant (Laboratory) will be responsible for supporting cutting-edge research projects, executing molecular biology workflows, and playing a key role in the optimisation and development of advanced protocols.
Report to Single-Cell Sequencing and Multi-omics Scientists, the incumbent will assume the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:

Perform and optimise molecular biology techniques to support research projects, ensuring high standards of experimental accuracy and robustness

Support the optimisation and development of advanced protocols to improve experimental efficiency and data quality

Assist in setting up new technology platforms (e.g. proteomic profiling system) and help standardise workflows for high-throughput analysis

Assist in managing the end-to-end specimen workflow, including registration, processing, storage, retrieval, and preparation for downstream studies

Analyse experimental data, present findings, and communicate effectively with internal research teams

Maintain precise laboratory records and ensure data quality and integrity in accordance with established laboratory policies

Coordinate laboratory logistics, including the receipt of specimens from collaborators, and liaison for specimen collection

Perform any other duties assigned by senior officers
Requirements:
We are seeking a high-calibre candidate for the post of Senior Research Assistant (Laboratory) who possesses:

A master’s degree or above in Biomedical Science, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a relevant life science field

At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a research laboratory environment

Solid hands-on experience in core molecular and protein analysis techniques, including proficiency in:

Nucleic acid extraction and quantification
-
Genotyping and Isoform detection (e.g., by PCR)
-
Gene expression profiling by real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR)
-
Protein detection, quantification, and analysis by Western Blotting and ELISA
-

Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following areas:
-
Inducible pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) culture and maintenance. Experience in differentiation, functional characterisation, or therapeutic discovery will be an advantage

High throughput proteomic profiling and data validation
-
Single-cell and spatial multi-omics technologies
-

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting

Good command of written Chinese and English, and fluency in spoken Cantonese
-
Experience contributing to manuscript preparation, research proposals, grant applications or IRB submissions is preferred

A proactive mindset, keen attention to detail, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to supporting multiple projects and research goals

Remuneration:
Successful candidate will be offered attractive remuneration and be appointed on an initial two-year contract (subject to mutual agreement for contract renewal).
