Themed “See the Unseen”, Hong Kong Genome Project (HKGP) is the first large-scale genome sequencing project in Hong Kong. Whole Genome Sequencing would be conducted for eligible patients and their family members, so that they could benefit from more precise diagnoses and more effective treatment. The Project also aims to nurture talents, promote the development of genomic medicine in Hong Kong and advance the health of the general population in the long run.

Join The Project

HKGP unfolds in two phases, including the pilot phase, covering cases of undiagnosed disorders and hereditary cancers; and the main phase, covering cases related to genomics and precision health. Hong Kong Genome Institute (HKGI) has set up Partnering Centres and referring networks under the Hospital Authority to recruit participants. All eligible participants have to be referred by clinicians at Partnering Centres to join the Project.
