Research Assistant (Laboratory)

Report to Single-Cell Sequencing and Multi-omics Scientists, the incumbent will assume the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:

Perform molecular biology techniques under supervision and guidance to support research projects, including protein detection/validation and mammalian cell culturing

Participate in the end-to-end specimen workflow, including registration, processing, storage, retrieval, and preparation for downstream studies

Support daily laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, inventory management, procurement of reagents, and quality assurance
-
Maintain accurate and organised laboratory records, ensuring timely data entry, document management, and upholding data integrity in accordance with established laboratory policies

Support laboratory logistics, including the receipt of specimens from collaborators and providing clerical support for specimen collection

Perform any other duties assigned by senior officers
Requirements:
We are seeking a high-calibre candidate for the post of Junior Research Assistant (Laboratory) who possesses:

A bachelor’s degree or above in Biomedical Sciences, Genetic Sciences, Health Sciences, Biological Sciences or a relevant life science field

Up to 2 years of hands-on lab experience (fresh graduates are also welcome)

Essential knowledge in molecular biology techniques, including:
-
Nucleic acid extraction and quantification
-
Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and product analysis
-
Real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR)
-
Western blotting (WB)
-
Mammalian cell culturing
-
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Good command of written Chinese and English, and fluency in spoken Cantonese

A proactive mindset, keen attention to detail, and the ability to execute tasks precisely after instruction

A team-oriented mindset and a commitment to continuous learning within a dynamic research setting

Remuneration:
Successful candidate will be offered attractive remuneration and be appointed on an initial two-year contract (subject to mutual agreement for contract renewal).
