Key responsibilities
- As Head of the Corporate Communications Division, drive and execute all corporate communication and education initiatives of the Hong Kong Genome Institute (HKGI)
- Lead the planning, organising and implementation of publicity activities of corporate communication and education programmes for the furtherance of the Hong Kong Genome Project (HKGP), aimed at deepening engagement with key stakeholders, including patients and families, healthcare professionals, students, and younger generations and members of the public
- Oversee the branding and promotional strategies for publicity campaigns and programmes for the HKGI and lead the production of the HKGI’s Annual Report
- Maximise communication tools and channels both online and offline to publicise the HKGI and HKGP, and advising and overseeing the production of communication and promotional materials of the HKGI, including website, promotional videos, leaflets and posters
- Handle media enquiries and requests, draft press releases and media responses, arrange media briefings or interviews and visits, and gauge and keep in pulse of the public and media’s views related to the work of the HKGI
- Perform any other duties assigned by senior officers
Requirements
- A university degree or equivalent, preferably majoring in public relations, marketing, communication, journalism or business administration
- At least 10 years’ working experience (of which at least 5 years should be at supervisory level) in publicity, public relations and media management and engagement, brand building, event management or corporate communications in sizeable corporations, non-governmental organisations, public relations agencies or government departments
- Experience in independently handling publicity campaigns will be an advantage

Remuneration
Successful candidate will be offered attractive remuneration and be appointed on an initial two-year contract (subject to mutual agreement for contract renewal).
