The HKGI Graduate Internship Programme offers fresh graduates a career starting point in genomics and related fields within a competitive job market.  The programme bridges the transition from higher education to corporate operations through targeted technical and professional upskilling.  The valuable capabilities and hands-on experience gained through this programme will significantly enhance candidates’ long-term marketability, establishing a firm foundation for future hiring opportunities both in the Hong Kong Genome Institute and across the broader industry.
 
We are seeking passionate individuals eager to develop their careers in this rapidly evolving sector.  Successful candidates will be assigned to the Finance and Procurement Division.
 
Finance and Procurement
 
Graduate Intern (Finance and Procurement)
 
The Graduate Intern is expected to support the day-to-day operations of the Finance and Procurement Division.  He or she will be given the opportunity to gain practical experience in financial reporting, procurement processes, and project financial management in a fast-paced setting.
 
Key responsibilities
 
  • Assist in month-end and quarter-end closing processes, including the preparation of financial reporting and schedules
  • Coordinate with users to verify delivery of project/services/products against contract payment schedules
  • Support daily finance operations, including invoice validation, payment processing and general accounting tasks
  • Conduct research on best practices to assist in empowering in-house guidelines and procedures
  • Assist in due diligence and compliance checks on vendors and suppliers

Requirements

  • Fresh graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related discipline
  • Strong communication skills with good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Detail-minded and strong commitment to accuracy
  • Final year students in the coming academic year would be considered on an exceptional basis

Programme Duration

Successful candidates will receive three to six months of on-the-job training at the Hong Kong Genome Institute, with a monthly allowance to be determined by the HKGI.  The internship period may be extended subject to HKGI operational requirements.
